Code of Conduct for NeuroMynds
1. Our Purpose
NeuroMynds exists to create a world where neurodivergent individuals feel understood, supported, empowered, and never alone.
We connect skilled coaches with clients, offer educational resources backed by science, philosophy, and social anthropology, provide a supportive community space, and work toward long-term systemic change.
Everything we build is grounded in compassion, autonomy, evidence-informed practices, and respect for lived experience.
By participating in NeuroMynds (including as a user, client, coach, or community member), you agree to this Code of Conduct, which forms part of our Terms of Use (including Community Guidelines) and Privacy Policy. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, termination, or other actions as outlined in the Terms of Use.
2. Our Guiding Values
2.1 Safety & Respect
Every interaction—between clients, coaches, team members, and community participants—must uphold emotional and psychological safety, mutual respect, and kindness.
2.2 Neurodiversity Affirmation
We celebrate neurological differences as natural human variation.
We do not pathologize, shame, or minimize anyone’s experiences.
We actively oppose discrimination based on neurotype, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, socioeconomic status, religion, disability, or any other identity. We recognize intersectional experiences and their impact on neurodivergence.
2.3 Autonomy & Consent
Clients are empowered decision-makers.
All services and interactions must be guided by explicit, informed consent.
2.4 Lived Experience Matters
We recognize that formal credentials do not define competency alone.
We value trained expertise and lived experience—recognizing that regulated therapeutic systems have often entirely overlooked the real needs of neurodivergent individuals.
Skill, empathy, clear and direct communication, boundaries, and self-reflection are central pillars, regardless of professional background.
2.5 Evidence-Informed Practice
Our coaching and educational materials are rooted in reputable science, philosophy, and social anthropology.
We acknowledge that science evolves, and so do we.
3. Coach Code of Conduct
All coaches on NeuroMynds agree to uphold the following:
3.1 Respect, Dignity & Inclusion
- Treat every client with unconditional positive regard.
- Use person-first or identity-first language based on client preference.
- Acknowledge cultural, racial, gender, disability, and socioeconomic identities and their impact on lived experience.
3.2 Ethical Communication
- Communicate with clarity, honesty, warmth, and professionalism.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Never offer discriminatory, coercive, dismissive, or shaming language.
Confidentiality applies to coaching sessions, but is limited by mandatory reporting obligations under applicable law (e.g., imminent harm). Coaches inform clients of these limits at the outset.
3.3 Scope of Practice
Coaches must:
- Stick to coaching practices (guidance, skill-building, reflecting, strategizing).
- Refrain from diagnosing, prescribing, or implying clinical treatment unless clinically licensed and explicitly hired for that purpose.
- Refer out when issues arise that fall outside their expertise.
Coaches must clearly communicate that coaching is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic treatment. NeuroMynds provides no such services (see Health Disclaimer in Terms of Use). Coaches refer clients to qualified healthcare professionals when appropriate and never imply diagnosis, prescription, or clinical intervention unless duly licensed and contracted specifically for that purpose
3.4 Boundaries
- Maintain healthy interpersonal boundaries.
- Avoid dual relationships that compromise objectivity or client safety.
- Never exploit a client emotionally, financially, or professionally.
3.5 Trauma-Informed Approach
Coaches commit to:
- Offering choice, control, and grounding.
- Avoiding assumptions or retraumatizing language.
- Recognizing power dynamics and working collaboratively.
3.6 Commitment to Growth
- Engage in ongoing learning and self-reflection.
- Seek feedback and supervision when needed.
- Stay updated on research in neurodiversity, psychology, philosophy, and social sciences.
4. Client Code of Conduct
We ask clients to help maintain a respectful community environment by:
- Treating coaches and peers with kindness and respect.
- Honoring privacy and confidentiality in community spaces.
- Communicating honestly about needs, boundaries, and concerns.
- Avoiding harassment, hate speech, or harmful behavior toward others.
5. Community Code of Conduct
Our community is a space for learning, connection, and mutual understanding. All users must:
5.1 Stay Respectful & Compassionate
- Assume good intent; honor lived experiences.
- Avoid judgment, unsolicited advice, or diagnostic comments.
- Engage in discussions constructively and with empathy.
5.2 Protect Privacy
- Never share another member’s story outside the platform.
- Avoid posting content that identifies others without consent.
Community posts are visible to other members and may be moderated or removed per the Terms of Use. Do not share personally identifiable information about others without explicit consent. All users are responsible for their own posted content (see Privacy Policy and Terms of Use Section 7.1).
The community is self-moderated with platform oversight. NeuroMynds may review, remove content, or intervene in violations but does not pre-screen posts and is not liable for user-generated content (see Terms of Use).
5.3 Maintain a Supportive Environment
- No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination.
- No spamming, self-promotion outside designated areas, or harmful content.
6. Our Coach Screening & Oversight Process
Because coaching in neurodivergence is a largely unregulated field—and because regulated mental health systems have overlooked many neurodivergent people’s actual needs—we take a rigorous, holistic approach to vetting coaches.
6.1 Application & Background Review
All potential coaches must submit:
- Detailed application including background, training, and experience
- Philosophy and approach to neurodiversity
- Description of lived experience (optional but welcomed)
- References or testimonials (if applicable)
- Any relevant licenses or certifications
We evaluate competency, integrity, and alignment with neurodiversity-affirming values—not just credentials.
6.2 Verification & Safety Checks
- Identity verification
- Optional background checks, depending on region and role
6.3 Ongoing Oversight
- Client feedback systems (to be implemented soon)
- Access to supervision and peer consultation
- Immediate review of any escalated concerns
Coaches agree to annual reaffirmation of this Code, prompt reporting of any new certifications/complaints, and participation in feedback processes.
6.4 Zero-Tolerance Behaviors
Coaches will be removed from the platform if they:
- Violate ethical boundaries
- Engage in discrimination or harassment
- Break confidentiality
- Exploit clients
- Demonstrate persistent harmful or unsafe practices
We prioritize community safety over platform growth.
7. Education & Research Integrity
NeuroMynds commits to:
- Presenting information that is evidence-informed and responsibly cited
- Continuing R&D across demographics, always with consent and transparency
- Prioritizing the dignity and autonomy of all research participants
- Avoiding reductionist or pathologizing narratives
- Sharing findings ethically and accessibly
- Using data to advocate for systemic change, not to reinforce stereotypes or inequities
8. Reporting & Accountability
We maintain an accessible and confidential reporting system for any concerns about:
- Coach behavior
- Community conflicts
- Safety issues
- Platform misuse
Reports can be submitted confidentially via connect@NeuroMynds.com. All reports are handled in accordance with our Terms of Use, prioritizing trauma-informed responses. Outcomes may include mediation, warnings, suspension, removal, or referral to authorities if required by law. NeuroMynds is not liable for user/coach actions but acts reasonably to maintain safety.
9. Our Commitment to Systemic Change
We believe individual support is not enough—we must address societal structures.
NeuroMynds contributes by:
- Signing and circulating petitions
- Supporting policy advocacy
- Sharing anonymized research insights
- Elevating neurodivergent voices
- Working toward more inclusive educational, healthcare, and workplace systems
10. A Shared Promise
By being part of NeuroMynds, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and help cultivate a community built on:
✨ Respect
✨ Courage
✨ Openness
✨ Compassion
✨ Collective empowerment
We grow together. We heal together. We learn together.
And we build a future where neurodivergent people are not just accommodated—but celebrated.
