Very good points, Meredith! And I can completely relate on the feelings about how much time things could take.
It took me a while, but now I really love waiting time. Every time I have to wait for something, I think about small and fast things I could finish. Starting with the smallest possible step is also a great move.
And every time I’m just standing lazy around, I’m asking myself what I could do with the time, I’m just standing around. Most of the time I realize that I just procrastinate. Meanwhile, this helps me a lot to start projects.
The Body doubling is also very strong. I’m always surprised about how strong this effect is!
True, for a systemic change, we need to collevtively open up. I highly confirm. But you also describe it very realistic with your experience. Either you are stay safe or you have to find another environment, because most of the workplaces of today still can’t handle neurodiversity. Or better most of the bosses can’t.
So the big question for me is, how to change this?
How is it possible to settle a stabile, open-minded atmosphere where ideas can flow without anxieties by the teamleads or other supervisors? Especially if they feel that their team could have more knowledge or some kind of intelligent then themselves. I have this question for a long time now, but no answer.
Well, I know, what you mean. I also developed a sixth sense for them 😀
And I’m really thankful that I have no narcissist around me in my work or in private at the moment.

My clients often ask me the same question. My answer is always the same, Zo wrote in the comment.
Observe yourself first. Get to know what drains your energy. Ask yourself if you want to change it and how. Then change it in safe places or conversations. Get experience with your new thoughts and expand step by step. Learn in which environment you can be unmasked and where do you need any kind of mask because the people don’t understand you.
The energy drain will be less if you have your safe place and friends.
I’m doing all this now for about 4 or 5 years and it changed a lot of my energy management. Now I am exploring, how I can lower any kind of mask through smart conversation management. It’s hard so far but I improve more and more.
Deep and honest thoughts. I’m experiencing this for the last 8-10 years I think. I think I would like it again, if I could experience it calmly and honest. The rushing, stressed and aggressive crowds are the opposite of my understanding of Christmas.
Crying while watching kids singing and dancing? Sure! I think they’re doing exactly what Christmas stands for. Being happy and thankful with and about friends and family, having a nice come together and enjoy live.
Interesting question. I think it really depends on the topic.
In general I would say NT-NT collaboration can set a stabile long term work, because many NT like known and working processes.
ND-NT collaboration can be very effective, if you want to achieve long term high-performance.
ND-ND collaboration is very effective if you want inspiration, efficiency, high pace, much fun or deep calm. But it’s way more difficult to find a matching ND.
And these thoughts don’t mention detailed working or environmental needs.
Well, I think you both described it very well, Lisa and Isabell. Many of my clients with high sensitivity and giftedness describe it similar. Narcissistic people have the Skill to be completely honest with their attention in the first step. They let you feel like you are something special for them. I also had that feeling already with female narcissistic people/partners. It worked quite well. But this turns very fast after differences.
And, as you also already described, it needs some experience and inner work to realize that pattern, which feelings they trigger and learn to avoid it or handle it.
